The International Symposium on Fungal Stress – ISFUS will be held at the Hotel Nacional Inn in São José dos Campos, SP, Brazil.
Introduction
The Fungal Kingdom is responsible for many ecosystem services as well as many industrial and agricultural products. Nevertheless, how these fungal species function and carry out these services is dependent on their capacity to grow under different stress conditions caused by a variety of abiotic factors such as ionizing radiation, UV radiation, extremes of temperature, acidity and alkalinity, and environments of low nutritional status, low water activity, or polluted with, e.g. toxic metals or xenobiotics. The International Symposium on Fungal Stress – ISFUS will present renowned speakers that work with fungal stress in the areas of Industrial Mycology, Agricultural Mycology, and Medical Mycology. The presentations will cover a wide range of fungal systems including:
- Stress mechanisms and responses in fungi: molecular biology, biochemistry, biophysics, and cellular biology
-
Fungal photobiology, clock regulation, and stress
-
Fungal stress in industry
-
Fungal biology in extreme environments
-
Ionizing radiation, heat, and other stresses in fungal biology
-
Fungal stress in agriculture: including biological control of insect pests
-
Stress in fungal pathogenesis
-
Stress in populations, fungal communities, and symbiotic interactions
